Nelson is urging faculty and staff, especially those in the category of essential staff&#8211;President, VPs, Deans, Chairs, Administrative Directors, and Senior Executives and Administrative Assistants to the UL President &amp; VPs respectively, to use the time off to carry out serious work from home.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cv_\" class=\" Xg \">\n<div class=\"Zg\">\n<div class=\"Rg\">\n<div class=\"Li\">\n<div class=\"yj\">\n<div class=\"Ph\" data-onclick=\"w\">\n<div id=\"cvcmsg_170e7e5e59fe70a1\" class=\"yh\">\n<div id=\"cvcfullmsg_170e7e5e59fe70a1\" class=\"Vh\">\n<div id=\"cvcmsgbod_170e7e5e59fe70a1\" class=\"aj\">\n<div class=\"Ni\">\n<div class=\"ni pi \" dir=\"ltr\">\n<blockquote>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ul.edu.lr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200203-WA0000.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14070\" src=\"https:\/\/ul.edu.lr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200203-WA0000.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The UL Administration, according to UL President, will meet regularly during this brief period of school closure via conference call to discuss issues pertinent to the University.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The decision to suspend all activities was reached yesterday evening during a 6 p.m. conference call attended by senior members of the UL management team.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Various options were considered but the team reached a consensus that closing the entire university was in the best interest of everyone&#8217;s safety at this time.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Dr.\u00a0 Nelson then gave a live phone-in interview on ELBC and urged the University family to remain calm and work together to ensure the safety of all.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He named a Special Coronvirus Advisory Team headed by the College of Health Sciences and co-chaired by Academic Affairs, with UL Relations, Student Affairs, Department of Chemistry, Instutional Development &amp; Planning\u00a0 \u00a0and Adminiaration serving as members.\u00a0 The Advisory Team will\u00a0 coordinate and advise on the implementation of additional measures\u00a0 to protect all stakeholders at the UL as well as contain the spread of the coronavirus.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Dr.\u00a0 Nelson also informed the general public that an extension to the current UL entrance registration process would be considered to ensure all have a fair chance of registering for the exam.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Following the announcement, several students commended the UL Administration on the UL Facebook page, praising the the UL Administration&#8217;s decision as &#8221;timely.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Below are some of the comments culled from the UL Facebook page:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>Joelyne T Kerneah<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;Good step.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Alvin B.
