The Administration of the University of Liberia – UL<\/span><\/a>, regrets to announce the sudden death of the former Director of Alumni Affairs, Atty. Fatou M. Coleman, whose sad event occurred on April 15, 2023, at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Monrovia following a brief illness.<\/div>\n
Her remains have been deposited at the Samuel Stryker Funeral Parlor in Sinkor, Monrovia, awaiting funeral and interment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Born September 24,1957, the late Atty. Fatou Coleman graduated from the University of Liberia with a Bachelor of Business Administration, (BBA) Degree on December 16, 1991.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

She obtained another Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of Liberia on September 25, 1996.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The late Atty. Fatou M. Coleman was employed by the University of Liberia on March 23, 1999, as Alumni Officer during the administration of former UL President, Dr. Frederick K. Gbegbe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Thereafter, on February 11, 2000, Atty. Coleman was transferred and appointed as Special Assistant to Dr. Ben A. Roberts, former President of the University of Liberia. She was again appointed in August 2000, as Special Assistant to the then Dean of Graduate Studies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

On January 18, 2005, Atty. Coleman was again appointed by Dr. Al- Hassan Conteh, former President of the University of Liberia, as Chairperson of the University Wide Committee on Alumni Affairs.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
In May 2008, the late Atty. Fatou M. Coleman was promoted from the position of Alumni Officer to the Director of Alumni Affairs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
In August 2014, Atty. Coleman was later transferred to the A. Romeo Horton College of Business and Public Administration, (formerly College of Business and Public Administration) with the rank of Instructor II, assigned in the Management Department.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
While serving as an instructor in the Business College, Atty. Coleman was reassigned to the Office of Student Affairs in 2016, by Rev. Dr. Julius Sarwolo Nelson, Jr. who was the Acting Vice President for Institutional Development and Planning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
While at the Office of Student Affairs, she worked as a Counselor, Counseling Section, Student Academic Advisement and Career Counseling (SA2C3), Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, University of Liberia. A position she continued to serve in up to her death.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The late Atty. Coleman also served as Director of Students, Monrovia Consolidated School System,( MCSS)Central Office, 1996, Counselor, Drug and Alcohol Affected Children, Vanderbilt Ave. Staten Island, New York, USA, from 1993 to 1994, MCSS Assistant Personnel Director, from 1991 to 1993. She was a member of the National Teachers Association of Liberia and Liberia\u2019s Women Initiative, ALPO, LINWU.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Administration, faculty, staff, and students extend their deepest sympathy to the family for the irreparable loss and wish her and others who departed this world everlasting peace and light perpetual shine on them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
