UL Dismisses Social Media Post Claiming 8,000 Students Are To Be Dropped —Terms It As \u201cFake News\u201d Capitol Hill Campus, University of Liberia, May 20, 2025 | Contrary to a widespread social media post circulated over the weekend that the University of Liberia (UL) is poised to drop 8,000 students \u2014 because they allegedly enrolled fraudulently \u2014 the University Administration categorically dismisses this news as \u201cFake News,\u201d says it lacks any iota of truth or veracity<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through University Relations, the UL Administration maintains that the social media post is simply intended to undermine the University, upset students and stakeholders, cause chaos, and create unnecessary distraction among students who are currently writing final exams. The UL Administration, therefore, encourages students to remain focused on academics and, in case of any doubt, refer and revert to the University’s official channels for any information about the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was against this backdrop, as well as to provide factual information, that the Vice President for University Relations, Cllr. Norris L. Tweah granted interviews separately with several major broadcast institutions, including Prime FM, Truth FM, OK FM, and LUX Radio, dismissing the report as untrue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The UL Administration urges students and the public to remain calm and only rely on information shared through the UL official communications channels, including the UL website, Facebook page, and Lux Radio, among others, for factual information concerning the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
