We seek experienced teacher-scholars committed to high-quality post-graduate education, research mentoring, and contributing to the University\u2019s academic mission.<strong><br>Areas of Appointment<br><\/strong>Faculty positions are available within the following doctoral fields: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Educational Administration<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Curriculum Studies and Instruction<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Educational Measurement and Evaluation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Candidate Qualifications<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Educational &amp; Academic Standards<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrated excellence in graduate-level instruction and the supervision of Master\u2019s or Doctoral candidates.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An active research portfolio consistent with academic rank, including peer-reviewed publications and grant acquisition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A proven track record in curriculum development, mentorship, and service to the broader academic community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Professional Experience<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A minimum of five (5) years of experience in teaching or supervising Ph.D. dissertations through to successful completion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in successful grant writing and leadership of complex academic projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evidence of international or regional engagement and a well-established professional collaborative network.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prior administrative or leadership experience within a higher education framework.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Core Responsibilities<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Design, develop, and instruct post-graduate level courses and seminars.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide primary supervision and mentorship to Ph.D. students and serve as a technical expert on dissertation committees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain an active research program with a consistent output of peer-reviewed publications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Secure external funding and contribute to the strategic development of the doctoral programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in departmental service, institutional assessment, and outreach initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Terms of Appointment<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Appointments will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, based on the candidate\u2019s experience and scholarly record.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salary and benefits packages are competitive and aligned with university policy and candidate qualifications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The specific appointment type (tenure-track or fixed-term) will be detailed in the formal letter of offer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application Procedures<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested candidates must submit a comprehensive application dossier consisting of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cover Letter (<\/strong>Specifying the faculty program of interest.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Curriculum Vitae:<\/strong>\u00a0(Including a full bibliography, grant history, and a list of successfully supervised theses\/dissertations.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Teaching Statement:<\/strong>\u00a0A 1\u20132-page philosophy of teaching, including evidence of graduate-level effectiveness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Research Plan:<\/strong>\u00a0A 1\u20132-page statement outlining research objectives, Ph.D. supervision strategies, and potential funding avenues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DEI Statement:<\/strong>\u00a0A 1-page summary of commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>References:<\/strong>\u00a0Contact information for three professional referees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scholarly Publications:<\/strong>\u00a0A list of recently relevant publications.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submission Instructions<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications must be submitted in person at the <strong>Graduate School Building, Capitol Hill Campus<\/strong>. <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Submission Deadline:<\/strong>\u00a0June 15, 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for subsequent interviews (available in virtual or in-person formats).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The University of Liberia is an Equal-Opportunity Institution.<\/strong>\u00a0We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment and strongly encourage applications from qualified candidates of all backgrounds.
