Sando to its Disciplinary<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Committee to investigate his claim that he is the acting<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">president of the University of Liberia Student Interim<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Leadership (ULSIL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The university&#8217;s Division of Student Affairs, in an official communication dated October 23 to Disciplinary Committee Chairman Mr. Andrew Dean, said student Sando introduced himself as the &#8220;Acting President of ULSIL&#8221; during recent live<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Facebook broadcasts on the official pages of the accused and Senator Nathaniel McGail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Facebook live, Sando claimed to speak for UL<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">students and petitioned the University Administration in<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">that purported capacity, without any valid mandate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The UL Division of Student Affairs said Sando made<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">statements to the public that are misleading and inaccurate<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">regarding the existence and status of student leadership at<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Asst. Prof. Saydah Williamson Taylory, Vice President and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dean of Student Affairs of the University of Liberia, said<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">student Sando previously served as Student Representative<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(S.R.) to the ULSIL during the 2024-2025 period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She added that the leadership arrangement operated under<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">the extended ULSIL Memorandum of Understanding<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(MoU) of 2024, which expired on December 31, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Since that date, no acting or interim student leadership has<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">existed at ULSIL, and the Student Union Building has<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">remained closed. Mr. Sando therefore holds no office,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">mandate, or authority to represent the student body,&#8221; said<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Asst. Prof. Williamson Taylor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She said Mr. Sando was verbally advised and cautioned on<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">several occasions, including during student leaders&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">stakeholder meetings, to cease holding himself out as a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">student leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the accused continues this conduct which, if<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">established by the investigation, constitutes violations of<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">the several provisions of the university&#8217;s student handbook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The communication lists Rule 1 (Dishonesty); Rule 6<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Creating Unrest on Campus; Acts of Hooliganism,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vandalism, and Violence); Rule 10 (Hostile and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Disrespectful Behavior towards University Authorities);<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">and Rule 13 (Circulation of Scurrilous Leaflets or Other<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Publications), as provisions that student Sando has<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">violated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Division of Student Affairs has therefore requested Mr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sando to respond to the concerns and be heard, in keeping<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">with due process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It further requested the Disciplinary Committee to<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">investigate the matter fully, including the authenticity and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">content of the broadcasts and petitions, and to determine<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">whether the Student Handbook&#8217;s provisions cited have<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">been violated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The committee has been mandated to recommend and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">impose appropriate sanctions, should the allegations be&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">substantiated, and report its findings and decision to the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Division of Student Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I further request that this matter be treated with the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">urgency it deserves, given its potential to mislead the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">public and disrupt harmony on campus,&#8221; Vice President<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Williamson Taylor said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A warning letter from the Division of Student Affairs has<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">been addressed to student Sando regarding his actions,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">particularly concerning his statements to the public that are<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">inaccurate and misleading about student leadership at the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">university and purported to represent the UL student body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;You are hereby formally warned to IMMEDIATELY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CEASE AND DESIST from: identifying yourself as<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acting President, or holding yourself out as an officer, of<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ULSIL or any student government body,&#8221; the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">communication said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the Division of Student Affairs has<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">admonished the public, the student community, partner<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">institutions, and all stakeholders that student Sando is&nbsp;purporting to be, and presenting himself as the acting<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">president of ULSIL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;This claim is false, and the public is advised not to take<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">him seriously,&#8221; the office said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Monrovia, Liberia (October 27, 2026)-&nbsp;The University of Liberia has referred student William B.
