When students and faculty of the University of Liberia return to school next academic semester 2018\/19\u2014which officially begins on Oct. 22\u2014they would interface with a fully digitized and automated E-Portal System that has an in-built academic and financial module that\u2019s capable of performing a student financial transaction in a matter of minutes from the beginning of the registration circle to its completion, thus ending the manual registration system at the University of Liberia.<\/p>

Once logged in onto the e-portal system, students would be able to perform numerous functions without having to navigate around campus physically in order to register. The system allows students to view course listings, add or drop courses, view financial statement, pay tuition and fees, view and print grade sheets, among others.<\/p>

Similarly, the E-portal system also allows faculty members to access class listing, input grades, and track student performance throughout the semester, and take and track attendance, among others. The new system is expected to enhance teaching and learning at the University of Liberia.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

During the launch of the automated E-Portal System on the University\u2019s Fendall Campus on Thursday, October 4, Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia and Visitor of the University of Liberia, thanked UL President Dr. Ophelia Inez Weeks for the project, saying, \u201cToday, I am glad that we have a digitized registration system now at the University of Liberia.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

During the launch of the automated E-Portal System on the University\u2019s Fendall Campus on Thursday, October 4, Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia and Visitor of the University of Liberia, thanked UL President Dr. Ophelia Inez Weeks for the project, saying, \u201cToday, I am glad that we have a digitized registration system now at the University of Liberia.\u201d<\/p>

The project was designed and implemented by a Liberian software company, MWETANA, and President Weah had similar praise for the company.<\/p>

\u201cI said in my inauguration speech, Liberians will not be spectators in their own economy. I thank MWETANA for the excellent job. When we talked about the digital system, we looked for companies and a Liberian company has performed. And so we need to encourage more Liberian companies,\u201d said President Weah in a speech punctuated by numerous applause.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In special remarks, UL President Dr. Weeks said the automation of the University registration system was historic for the University of Liberia.<\/p>

\u201cFor me, this day is a historic day for the University of Liberia and the Republic of Liberia. The UL is overwhelmed!\u201d Dr. Weeks said. \u201cWe are here because of many of the challenges that we had here at this university centered around a growing University in every imaginable aspect with a manual, antiquated system to register our students.\u201d<\/p>

Dr Weeks said the University of Liberia family was grateful to President Weah for seeing it fit to include the automation of the University registration system a major priority among his 150-Day deliverables.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
