Program Specifications: Building Competencies

The MA degree program is carefully designed to offer both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The Core Courses aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the discipline of interest, contemporary contexts, analytical capabilities, and the skills needed to operate effectively within existing frameworks. Elective Courses or Seminars offer opportunities for a focus in various aspects of the chosen field, while the final Thesis is geared towards preparing students for complex, independent research projects in the chosen field.
The program comprises of the of 46 credit hours for 2 years.

Year 1 – 1st Semester

  • Approaches to the Study of International Relations Code: POSC503 Credit: 3 hours
  • Approaches to the Study of Political Theory Code: POSC505 Credit: 3 hours
  • Government and Politics of Contemporary Africa Code: POSC512 Credit: 3 hours
