The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at University of Liberia serves multiple student populations. We’re delighted that you’re interested in learning more about the possibilities at UL. Whether this is your first time attending college, or you completed some higher education coursework, we welcome you to explore UL.
Matriculation to the University of Liberia is predominantly through Sitting and passing the UL Entrance and Placement Exam. Don’t get frightened here! You can slam dunk it like some many others before you have done. There’s only one trick: Study. Our exam is easy and is administered twice a year.
Candidates interested in sitting the exam must submit two recent passport-size photos and deposit the amount of LD$2,500.00 registration to register for the entrance exam. You must be a high school graduate with a WAEC/WASSCE / GCE or Advanced Level Certificate.
All successful candidates for undergraduate admission must submit the following required documents: A high school transcript which includes 10th, 11th & 12th Grades and a type-written letter of recommendation, signed, stamped and sealed by the school; Diploma & WEAC Certificate / GCE or Advanced Level; One recent health certificate (from any recognized hospital, not a clinic) and two recent passport size photos.

Among the ubiquity of scholarships at the University of Liberia, is the President Honor Society. To be a member of this society, “A student must be a full-time student taking fifteen credit hours or more and make a grade point average between 3.750 and 4.00 at the end of each semester.
Any student who makes such grade points, the University will pay 100% of their tuition and fees and award a monthly stipend of US$25.00 per month for the duration of the academic semester.

Then there is the “Dean’s Honor Roll.” Full time students with a GPA of 3.500 ranging to 3.749 every semester will not pay school fees, but will not benefit from stipend. Also, students who make a grade point average of 2.750 and above who are selected members of student leadership will benefit from “Student Leadership Award.” The university will pay their tuitions, but not other fees.
Students are also awarded scholarships by the “Student Leadership Award” Four scholarship spaces are given to four students of such campus based organizations with a GPA of 2.750 and above during every semester. In this case, the University takes responsibility for only the students’ tuition.
The University of Liberia offers financial assistance to talented students who dedicate their time to promoting the University through sports and other means.
The Varsity Sports Award is available to students selected by the coaches and directors of the varsity sports who score a GPA of 2.250 and above. The University pays on tuition ( and not fees) of these students.
Students who participate in other activities, such as singing in the University of Liberia Chorus benefit from a special award. This award is given to students who are members of the University Chorus and have earned a GPA of 2.250 and above for a semester. The University pays the tuition but not other fees.
In addition to these numerous scholarships and financial assistance opportunities, there are a number of financial assistance programs sponsored by various institutions and organizations in collaboration with the UL.
One such financial assistance program is the Trustees of Donation for Education in Liberia (TDEL) and the Rodney Armstrong Scholar Program which is available to students only in Liberia College.
Full time students in their sophomore year with a GPA of 3.000 and above can benefit from these scholarships. The recipients are selected from a list of students recommended by the office of Student Affairs. The office of Enrollment Services and the Dean of Liberia College also take part in the selection. The scholarship covers tuition, fees, dormitory (boarding), books and small stipend. Every student is given one US$1,000 per academic year.
Another scholarship is the Liberia-Ghana Mission Scholarship. About forty students or more are sponsored every semester.
Then there is the Chinese Ambassador Scholarship program. Full time students in the college of Agriculture and Forestry, College of Science and Technology and the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf College of Engineering are eligible to apply for this scholarship, but must have a GPA of 3.000 and above. However, a requirement for this scholarship is completing two semesters of Chinese Language, History and Culture.
There is also the Chinese Enterprise’s Scholarship. Selection is done by the institution in three categories. Benefits are as follows: category one, US$150.00 per semester; category two, US$300.00 per semester; and category three, US$500.00 per semester.
