The University of Liberia is deeply saddened to announce the passing of
Professor: Florence Serena Blyden
1942 – 2025
At the St Joseph’s Catholic Hospital Monrovia, Liberia, on Thursday, 29th January 2025, at 3:00 pm.
Funeral Arrangements are as follows:
Wake-Keeping: There will be no wake-keeping.
Memorial Service & Burial: (February 28, 2025), the body will be transported from the Samuel A. Stryker Funeral Home to the University of Liberia Main Campus; thereafter, to Effort Baptist Church in Paynesville.
Interment: Will take place ( March 1st, 2025) at the JCN Howard Cemetery.
She is survived by:
Sister: Bindu Blyden (Aka Evangeline Thompson)
Brother-in- law: J. Eustace Smith, Snr.
Nieces/Nephews: Lorraine Lamptey & Children, J. Eustace Smith, Jnr & Family, T.C. Smith & Family, Lex Wa Taylor & Family, Curtis H. Taylor & Family, Vinolia Y. Taylor & Son, Cerrillel Nassau & Family, Parquita Nassau & Family, Garmann Dennis & Children, S. Raymond Horace, III & Family, Eddie Blyden, Sibling and family, Barney Curtis & Jewel Thompson Taye.

She is also survived by a host of great nieces and nephews and many cousins, foster brothers and sisters & their families.
