High Level UL Delegation Visits Sierra Leone
The President of the University of Liberia (UL), Rev. Prof. Dr. Julius Julukon Sarwolo Nelson, Jr., is heading a high level delegation comprising of heads of academic, technical and administrative departments as well as faculty and student representatives on an eight day working visit to Sierra Leone as part of a process of strengthening academic partnership with universities in that country.
The delegation will make brief stops at the campuses of Njala University to hold talks with authorities on the possibility of building collaboration in the areas of faculty and student exchange programs amongst others.
Dr. Nelson and entourage will also tour parts of Njala’s infrastructures and take a glance at how their academic and technical programs are modelled.
Thereafter, the delegation will travel to the Ernest Bai Koroma University in Makeni and then onward to Freetown as guests of the University of Sierra Leone where talks will be held in an effort to improve relations between the two institutions and enhance academic partnership.
In Freetown, Dr. Nelson and team will meet at the State House with His Excellency Brig. Rtd. Julius Maada Wonie Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone and Chancellor of the University of Sierra Leone, who will preside over a ceremony for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Liberia and the University of Sierra Leone.
Dr. Nelson and his delegation will return to Monrovia on Friday, September 10, 2021.
