UL Suspends Registrations for 2nd Academic Semester 2021 and 2nd Entrance Exam; Reduces Personnel Attendance at Work with Immediate Effect

UL Capitol Hill Campus, Monrovia–June 19, 2021: The Administration of the University of Liberia (UL) has, with immediate effect until, suspended all registration preceding the commencement of classes for the 2nd Semester Academic Year 2021, until further notice, in response to the rise in Covid-19 infections.

The suspension also affects registration for the 2nd Entrance and Placement Exam for undergraduate applicants as well as the registration for the Aptitude Test for applicants seeking admission to the graduate and professional schools.

Additionally, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all its employees, the UL Administration has limited personnel attendance at work on all campuses to chairpersons and above for personnel assigned in its academic units, and to administrative directors and above for personnel assigned in administrative departments.

According to the UL revised academic calendar, student registration for the 2nd semester was scheduled to begin on Monday, the 21st of June 2021, while classes were to begin on Monday, 28th of June 2021.

Registration for the 2nd Entrance Exam and Aptitude Test commenced on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

The above decisions were reached at an emergency called UL Cabinet meeting held on Saturday, June 19, 2021.

Meanwhile, beginning early next week, the Administration will begin consulting all key stakeholders of the University, including the UL Faculty Association (ULFA), the UL Staff Association (ULSA) and the UL Student Union (ULSU) on ways to curtail any further spread of Covid-19.

Further, the Administration encourages all to strictly adhere to health protocols instituted by the Ministry of Health and the Government of Liberia (GOL).
