Dr. Nelson Meets Senate Pro – Temp Chie
–Gets Reassurance of Support from the Upper House
The President of the University of Liberia (UL), Prof. Dr. Julius Julukon Sarwolo Nelson has paid a courtesy visit requested by the President Pro – Tempore of the Liberian Senate, Hon. Albert T. Chie, where he held a fruitful discussion on a range of issues including attracting more legislative and budgetary support to the university.
During the meeting held on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the Senate Pro – Tempore’s Capitol Hill office, Senator Chie and President Nelson discussed programs and development plans of the university administration and how adequate budgetary support toward the university can help in actualizing important tertiary education initiatives.
Pro – Temp Chie assured Dr. Nelson of the Senate’s commitment to giving the University of Liberia the needed support to boost its capacity.
Dr. Nelson lauded Hon. Chie’s commitment and assured him and the Legislature that the UL administration is already endeavoring to elevate and rebrand the image of the university. Dr. Nelson noted that the university will continue to work with the Senate and the House as well as other internal and external partners to mobilize and efficiently utilize resources for the implementation of key development plans at the University of Liberia.
