Joint Liberia, French Development Agency & Institut National Polytechnique- Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB) Recruit 2nd Batch of Scholars

The Joint Liberia and French Development Agency (AFD) Training Project announces the ongoing recruitment of young Liberian students, for a four year scholarship at the Institut National Polytechnique- Houphouët-Boigny (INP_HB) in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.

The Training project, an initiative of the Liberian government funded by the French government through the French Development Agency, aims to provide young Liberians the opportunity to specialize in various engineering sciences and technology disciplines in order to become productive.

This initiative is a result of the President, Dr. George Manneh Weah’s first state visit to Paris, France in February 2018, where he engaged French President Emmanuel Macron on the need to build the capacity of Liberian youth in order to address youth unemployment in the country.

Interest persons must meet the following criteria before applying for the scholarship:

  1. Applicants must not be older than 26 years
  2. Applicants must be recent high school graduates or freshman student or 2019 successful WAEC or WASSCE candidates
  3. Applicants must have performed well in WAEC or WASSCE with good marks in Mathematics, English, Chemistry and Biology

Candidates who meet the above criteria are eligible to pick up an application form at the following locations:

  1. Ministry of Education at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town
  2. The FG-6 Building, Student Affairs, University of Liberia’s Capitol Hill Campus
  3. Stella Maris Polytechnic, Capitol Hill
  4. Theresa Convent Randall Street
  5. And F-SHAM in Paynesville among others.

All forms are to be fill-out and returned no later than Friday, October 16, 2020 with all requested documents including:

  1. A passport size photo with white background
  2. With 2019 WAEC/WASSCE Certificates (for high school graduates)
  3. Transcript with a GPA equivalent of 80% (for university students)

The entrance or aptitude test is slated for Saturday, October 24, at the William V. S. Tubman High School on 12th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia.

Please note that following the exams, successful candidates will have to present the following documents:

  1. Original Copy of the candidates birth certificate
  2. A valid passport
  3. And a medical certificate

Please note that female candidates are highly encouraged to apply.

The four-year scholarship will enable candidates earn undergraduate degrees in the following disciplines:

  1. Information and Communication Sciences and technologies: (Specializations: Electrics, industrial Computer Science, Telecommunication, Computer Science)

 

  1. Industrial Engineering Sciences and Technologies: (Electrotechnics and Industrial Automation, Industrial Systems Production and Maintenance, Mechatronics and Car Industry)

 

  1. Process Engineering Sciences and Technologies: (Industrial Process Engineering, Bio-Process Engineering)

 

  1. Civil Engineering: (Building and Town Planning, Road Building and Transport, Hydraulics and Environment, Topographic Surveying)

 

  1. Mining and Geology: (Mining and Geology, Exploration and Geology, Mines Mineralogy-Foundery, Water and Mining Environment, Hydrocarbons)

 

  1. Agricultural Engineering Technologies: (Water and Forest Technics, Agro-Business, Agricultural Machinery and Rural Development, General Agriculture, Water Forest and Environment, Breeding)
