UL President Tours Medical School Facilities

The President of the University of Liberia president (UL), Dr. Ophelia Weeks, has expressed delight over preparations for occupancy of the newly constructed facilities of the A. M. Dogliotti College of Health Sciences on the Fendall Campus of the university.

The president, who was seen beaming smiles as she toured the forty-six-bedroom facilities, said she was happy with the level of work being done so far.

“I am pleased with the overall construction works, it is well done. I think our students will be delighted to see the new facilities; they don’t have to worry about transportation because their residence and lecture halls are all in one place,” said Dr. Weeks.

“This is a big improvement, and I like to thank the World Bank for working with the Medical College to make this happen,” president Weeks expressed.

She expressed gratitude for meeting the schedule for the completion of the project, noting that although it is at sometimes hard for construction projects to meet end targets; they were very closed to the targeted time.

Groundbreaking for the construction of the dormitories took place on November 27, 2017, during the administration of former President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

Dr. Weeks said she was happy that the facilities were ready for use; just one year into the administration of President George Manneh Weah.

Among other things, the UL President said she was delighted that the University now has additional facilities, noting: “We are working towards moving Heath Sciences to the Fendall Campus, and this is the first step towards those efforts.”
