UL Reaches Agreement with Orange, Lonestar MTN for Affordable Data & Gadgets Packages

Monrovia, August 1, 2020: After several weeks of discussions and negotiations with Liberia’s two major GSM companies (Orange and Lonestar MTN) and the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA), the University of Liberia is pleased to inform its faculty and students that both GSM companies have offered Internet data packages and computing devices prices illustrated below. The prices of Internet data packages take into consideration the Liberian Government’s Floor Price Regulations.

Students intending to benefit from these offerings MUST BE fully registered for the UL Elearning Semester. Students will also be required to provide their student ID and other credentials to the GSM company of their choosing.

On July 2, 2020, the President of the University of Liberia, Prof. Dr. Julius J. S. Nelson, Jr., announced that as a result of COVID-19, the University has decided to adopt eLearning as a way of ensuring continuity in the delivery of education to the future leaders of Liberia. Dr. Nelson informed the faculty that this semester would be a “Special E-learning Semester” which will last for 90 days or three months. In addition, Dr. Nelson also informed the faculty and students that the University would work with GSM companies to ensure faculty and students benefit from affordable internet data packages and computing devices.
